|
|
hi
i was wondering if there's a similar utility like Saturn Region Patcher, but for Dreamcast. i don't need the region patch feature, just the info, like the region code and the product number, so i can check if the current region code "belongs" to the product number.
cheers |

In fact, most of the DC releases have already been "patched" with a multi region codes (JUE I think)., so no utility available for that.
Just open a DC image on a hex editor and look for "KATANA". The header is formed in a similar manner than the Saturn header. _________________

yeh i guess it's much harder in dreamcast, because it's harder to rip GD-roms than the saturn common CD-roms. GD-Roms have to be downsampled and sometimes they have to remove audio tracks, etc.
about the utility i was searching, i've found a nice one (not as good as your SRP), it's called IP CD Explorer and the very first one i've checked was already JUE regioned...
i guess we must not worry about this or else we might as well not collect dreamcast games at all.
i wish someone had discovered how to mod common computer drives to read GD-roms or even better to mod the dreamcast drive to read dvd's so the dreamcast gd-roms wouldn't need to be reduced to fit on a cdr. maybe someday |
